⛰ 1. Immigrate to Canada through Express Entry

Canada’s Express Entry is its fastest immigration program. It can move you to Canada in as fast as six months! You do not need a job offer to apply through Express Entry, and you can be from anywhere in the world wanting to immigrate to Canada. You can go through any one of its categories:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW);
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC); and
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

If you are eligible in any of the three categories, you may submit your online profile, and it will be given a score through Canada’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The highest-ranking candidates then receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada’s permanent residency. The following factors are some of the basis of getting your CRS score:

  • Your education level
  • Your language proficiency (in English, French, or both)
  • your partner
  • A job offer (optional)
  • Siblings in Canada (optional)

You should prepare about CAD 2,300 if you are a single applicant and about CAD 4,500 if you are applying as a couple for your Canada immigration cost through Express Entry.

🏞 2. Immigrate to Canada through the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)

The provinces of Canada did not stop nominating overseas workers for permanent residency even during the pandemic. Canada is going to welcome 83,500 new immigrants through the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) this year. Canada’s provinces and territories offer various nominee programs with different qualifying criteria.

The following provinces under PNP can nominate you if you have the skills needed by them. Each province has a different set of skills requirements; thus, each has its own PNP and set of requirements.

  • Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)
  • British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)
  • Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
  • New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NW PNP)
  • Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NL PNP)
  • Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
  • Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP)
  • Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OINP)
  • Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
  • Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program (SINP)
  • Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

The cost of processing your immigration to Canada through the PNP is almost usually the same as the Express Entry. Some provinces do not require payment to process PNP applications, but others do; such as in Ontario, they can charge up to CAD1,500.00.

💼 3. Immigrate to Canada with Job Offer

If you have a Job Offer, it will provide you with several routes in getting you a Canadian permanent residency. Take note: A job offer is not valid if your employer is an embassy, high commission, or consulate in Canada or on the list of ineligible employers. Additionally, a valid job offer must be supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) in most cases.

🗂️ Job Offer Inclusions

What constitutes a valid job offer? It should contain the following details:

  • the employment offer
  • the salary and benefits
  • the job responsibilities
  • the reporting manager’s name and title

📑 Job Offer Requirements

Your job offer must:

  • be recent (usually less than one year old)
  • be in writing
  • not be from an embassy, high commission, or consulate in Canada
  • set details of the job offered to you, such as your pay and deductions; your job duties and conditions of employment, like your hours of work.

The offer letter may also provide details of work hours, start date, and other relevant information necessary for the prospective employee’s knowledge.

Upon creation of your Express Entry profile, you must include the LMIA number to indicate that you have a job offer. Keep your original document safe as you may be asked to present it if you get an invitation to apply (ITA).

🏔 4. Immigrate to Canada through Atlantic Immigration Pilot

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIP) concentrates on recruiting newcomers for the four Atlantic provinces of Canada: Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. It is to fill the labor gaps in these provinces with qualified immigrants with work experience.

The AIP programs are:

  1. Atlantic International Graduate Program
  2. Atlantic High-skilled Program
  3. Atlantic Intermediate-skilled Program

The three AIP programs have different requirements that applicants must meet. Applicants would receive information from the employer of which program they are being hired for and must meet the requirements. The requirements are the following.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 5. Immigrate to Canada through Family Sponsorship

Family reunification is still the foundation of Canada’s immigration policy, and the country is planning to welcome 105,000 new permanent residents through this program this year. Those who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents can sponsor their relatives to live in Canada permanently. Below are the four family sponsorship program streams.

A permanent Canadian citizen can sponsor their spouse or partner for permanent residency through this stream. They can do it whether they are currently in Canada or not.

Qualified children dependents are those below 22 years old and not married. They can be biological or adopted children. Sponsorship applies to them if they receive approval from the IRCC.

Qualified applicants can sponsor their parents and grandparents to Canada as long as they are capable of supporting them financially, as Canada does not provide financial assistance for them. There is a limit of ten thousand people to be welcomed yearly under this stream.

Asa Canadian resident, you can sponsor your orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew, or grandchild. Another way to sponsor any one of them regardless of their age is if you do not have a closer relative such as your spouse and dependent children.

The family Sponsorship program would cost you about CAD 1,135, and some additional fees will apply if the sponsor resides in Quebec.

It is for the high-net-worth individual who has a business or managing a business overseas. Canada welcomes them as they can highly contribute to the country’s economy. It is one of the easiest ways to immigrate to Canada through a federal or provincial business immigration program.

You will need to invest in the company that you intend to start in Canada through the Business immigration program. The amount of investment will depend on the program you will be interested in. There are lower investments available through the PNP regional entrepreneur programs.
